Grand Sunset Hotel Phuket

We ended not staying at the property, we left an found another place close by that was a lot nicer and better value

The fridge spelt there was stains all over the walls and furniture, the curtains had rips and the safe didn’t work

The hotel is very central to the beach and surroundings. The staff were helpful. Rooftop pool.

The hotel was very dirty. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, it was like sleeping on a concrete floor. Curtains were ripped. Used bottles from previous guests under the bed. I doubt the room or sheets were ever cleaned. Rooms were very noisy as you could hear other people all the time. Electricity went when we were there and had no AC which was torture.

The hotel is in a good area, the swimming pool was good and the staff ( just in swimming pool area).

The staff wasn’t polite, the bathroom smelling horrible and is not value for money, as well we asked for a toilet paper because the cleaner didn’t refill and the receptionist refused to provide it, I have to go at the reception. Really bad attention. As well the restaurant is Russian food that hasn’t nothing to be with phucket.

The aircon wasn’t working so had to be fixed, the room was small, there was a list in the room of how much things cost if they are lost or damaged which felt a little over the top

Poor wasn’t the cleanest. Checkout took a long time. Had to prompt to get back deposit as it wasn’t offered back.

we were happy when we checked out and went elsewhere. The room was listed as a family room, 3 adults and 2 kids in a shoe box with 1 toilet which had glass sliding door between the bedroom was a debacle during the night... Light kept blazing in. You can hear every sound. Breakfast was pretty average, the staff barely speak any english and are unhelpful. The pool does not open till 10am. so the kids are supposed to sit around and do nothing all morning. by the time they can enter the place is an oven with NO shade whatsoever.I would not recomend staying there...

To be honest most of Karon hotels we checked out were dilapidated, our friends were staying in another which was run down, no maintenance or upkeep is being invested in the majority of the hotels there... They are taking tourism money and giving crap in return. Be very wairy, cannot trust what the site says, or DOES not say for that matter.

It needs a good scrub. It needs an update. All doors banging all night. Curtain and windows in the room are filthy.

The bed is comfortable

The hotel is a disaster, the staff is rude and they do not put any effort to please the guest, one night we can back and we ask for an extra soft pillow and the guy in reception was having a video call and he said no pillow available, a hotel can actually run out of pillow? I believe he was too busy with the phone call, The gym is a dirty and warm like a sauna, yes you can switch on AC but for sure when you see it doesn’t look appealing, wi-fi doesn’t work, apparently they have a different wi-fi in every floor bit none work, the pictures are not the reality of the room (at least the one which has been given to us), there is a terrible smell in the room and you need constantly leave the AC on if you want to breathe, in this six days we manage to book for two nights a different hotel which we used to go in the past, which is amazing, but unfortunately limited availability.

Close by the beach. Have a rooftop pool.

Good location for restaurants and beach front. Walking distance to bars and easy to get around. Room very standard but kept clean. Big beds.

Swimming pool on roof was unmanned so getting a drink was difficult, and they wouldn't allow outside drinks to be brought in. We asked kitchen staff for someone to unlock the fridge to get a drink and we were ignored. Corridor smelt of smoke the day we left

Fantastic sized room very private and spacious.Superb rooftop pool super clean and safe.
